Rock 'N Stroll A Run for the Babies

babies/children of the Teen Parent Mentor Program,
YWCA GREENSBORO, A United Way Community Partner When/Time

Saturday April 12th: Pick up packets from
OFF’N RUNNING 10AM to 5PM Directions
Bur-Mil Park is located at 5834 Owl’s Roost Rd. From Greensboro,
take US-220 North (Battleground Ave), turn right onto Owl’s Roost
Rd. Turn left into park and proceed down the main drive towards the
nature center where race will start. The Course
The course is a loop of beautiful paved trails with several
small inclines. All miles will be marked. Awards
Age group awards will be given for the 1 mile fun run and the
5K. Awards will also be given to the fastest baby pushers. ROCK &
STROLL is designed to create awareness of the challenges faced by
many mothers and babies in Greensboro and more specifically the teen
women and children served by the YWCA Greensboro’s Teen Parent
Mentor Program Our whole community benefits if teen mothers and
their babies are offered the support they need to be healthy, stay
in school, develop healthy relationships and meet basic needs.
TPMP offers support to teens who are pregnant or parenting. Teen
mothers are matched in one-on-one relationships with adult women who
provide friendship and guidance. TPMP offers teen mothers academic
support, childbirth preparation, teen family literacy programs,
leadership development, parenting and child development education
and support from doulas, mentors, staff and other teen mothers.
